Koffee Krew Unite with Royce and Aaron

Renee Serrano

So tell me your name and what dojo you're from. I am Royce and I'm from Scott Savage Academy. How old are you? I'm eight. And when did you start Jiu Jitsu? I start, when, so you started about eight months ago. Eight. I started eight months ago. How do you like it? It's pretty good. It's a pretty good academy and I like it and I like my professors. Cool. What's your favorite submission? Mine's a cross collar joke. Nice. From the top or the bottom? Probably the top or the bottom. Maybe. It's whatever they give you. Yeah, whatever. Okay. Awesome. How about you dad? My name is Aaron. I'm from Scotts Savage, jiu jitsu Academy. When did you start jiu jitsu? I'm a little over a year in, 13 to 14 months. You got hurt doing jiu jitsu. Yeah. I, had knee surgery on March 24th. Tore my meniscus. I had some cartilage repair done. So what was it like as a white belt doing jiu jitsu? What kind of things did you all have to overcome? It was, mind boggling, that's for sure. It was interesting coming in, as a 6'1" 225 pounds man, getting beaten up by 14-year-old blue belt girls, you know? Right. That's what usually happens. Yeah. It was something that made me think, I have to learn this'cause I feel pretty helpless. Oh yeah, I can imagine. Royce. Hi. So what do you like about jiu jitsu? Jiu jitsu is pretty fun. It's, my favorite sport and I just like jiu jitsu so much. I love it. Is there anything you wanna say? In regards to jiu jitsu. Probably the biggest thing, what jiu jitsu's done for me is the mental things outside of jiu jitsu. It's been great for me, for my family, it's a lot cheaper than therapy. I think so too. And I just recommend anybody that needs an outlet or something to do, to take up their time to try jiu jitsu, because it'll change your life. Royce, have you seen a big change in your dad since he is done jiu jitsu? Yeah. Many times. Yeah. Yes. Is he getting better? Yes, he's getting better. His knees, healing and, he's getting better and all that stuff. Okay. What do you think about this big Unite Koffee Krew? I like it. It's pretty fun. Yeah. This is awesome. I'm real happy for Kiko. He's a great man. The whole thing that he's doing with his Koffee Krew and, bringing jiu jitsu to more people than it used to be only training with your academy and stuff like that. I think this is really good for the community. Yeah, absolutely. Okay, guys, thank you for being on. Maybe in the future I'll have you on by yourselves, okay? Yes, ma'am. Thank you. Okay. Take care. Have a good day. All Right, you too. Bye. Bye.
